Finished product inventories reported at 70.2 percent of average monthly output as of January 1
Industrial companies' finished product inventories totaled 27,958.2 billion rubels (some $2.9 billion) as of January 1, 2014, which amounted to 70.2 percent of the average monthly output compared with 56.5 percent a year earlier, reported the National Statistical Committee (Belstat).
According to Belstat, as of January 1, the largest proportions of unsold products were in the leather and footwear industries, 261.7 percent of the average monthly output; the textile and garment industry, 181.8 percent; and the production of machines and equipment, 174 percent.
The proportion of unsold goods was 101.3 percent in the production of transport vehicles and equipment, up from 72 percent a year before; 100 percent in the production of electric, electronic and optical equipment, up from 88.2 percent; 79.5 percent in the processing industry, up from 63.1 percent; 70.4 percent in the woodworking industry, up from 66.3 percent; 68.5 percent in the iron and steel industry, up from 61.1 percent; 61.5 percent in the pulp and paper and printing industries, down from 63.6 percent; 59 percent in the food industry, down from 60.5 percent; and 12.2 percent in the mining industry, up from 7.7 percent. //BelaPAN
