Exercise involving troops of Qatar’s Special Operations Forces held in Minsk region
A joint exercise involving troops of the Special Operations Forces of Belarus and Qatar was completed in Maryina Horka, Minsk region, on July 28, BelaPAN reports.
The exercise was observed by Pyotr Tsikhanowski, chief of the General Staff of the Belarusian Armed Forces, and by Hamad bin Ali al Attiyah, chief of staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, according to the press office of the Belarusian defense ministry.
The exercise focused on tactical aspects of special operations, psychological training, marksmanship and the use of small arms.
The event marked a new stage in the development of bilateral military cooperation, the press office noted.
According to it, in October 2008 and March 2010, Belarus participated in the Ferocious Falcon international military exercises in Qatar. Belarusian officers gained the experience necessary for participation in multinational humanitarian operations abroad, the press office said.
