Opposition activists in Mahilyow region agree to cooperate in run-up to presidential elections
Opposition activists from across the Mahilyow region, at Saturday’s conference in the regional capital, agreed to cooperate in the run-up to the coming presidential elections, BelaPAN reports.
The event was attended by a number of prominent politicians, including presidential hopefuls Yaraslaw Ramanchuk, Ryhor Kastusyow, Ales Mikhalevich, Vital Rymashewski, Alyaksandr Milinkevich and Yury Hlushakow.
The politicians made speeches and answered the delegates’ questions.
The conference yielded an agreement that the member organizations of the Mahilyow region’s coalition of pro-democratic forces would cooperate in the establishment of election commissions and organization of post-election street protests. The delegates also called on the leaderships of opposition forces to select a single pro-democratic candidate in the elections.
