Trade between Belarus, Armenia may reach $40 million this year, ambassador says

Trade between Belarus and Armenia may reach $40 million this year, Armenian Ambassador Armen Khachatryan told reporters in Minsk on September 20, as quoted by BelaPAN.

The diplomat noted that despite a high level of political relations, trade between the two countries had totaled only $25 million last year. However, he added, the volume of bilateral trade amounted to $29.1 million in the first six months of this year, not least because of increased cooperation between Belarus' and Armenia's provinces.

"Belarus and Armenia have very good and open relations and we have to continue developing them constantly," Mr. Khachatryan said.

Belarus and Armenia plan to organize days of their culture in the other country soon, according to the ambassador.

Speaking about his impressions of Belarus, the ambassador noted that "it is impossible not to love Belarus, here true values, spiritual values reign, orderliness and statehood are appreciated."
