United Civic Party's presidential hopeful staying in Sweden
Economist Yaraslaw Ramanchuk, the opposition United Civic Party’s presidential hopeful, on Friday arrived in Sweden on a three-day visit.
Mr. Ramanchuk is paying the visit at the invitation of Swedish Foreign Minister Karl Bildt.
The presidential hopeful told BelaPAN by phone that he had been invited to take part in a regional conference expected to bring together leaders of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
“We are now in Stockholm,” Mr. Ramanchuk said. “We will meet with officials of the Swedish foreign ministry and later with Swedish MPs. After that, the conference will start.”
