Belarusian Potash Company to raise prices for Brazil by six percent
The Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) will raise the prices of its granular fertilizer for Brazil by around six percent on July 1.
The cost and freight price will be increased from $520 to $550 per ton for large importers and from $525 to $560 for smaller importers, said the BPC press office.
The prices will be raised because of an unprecedented demand for potash caused by higher prices of farm produce and limited stockpiles of fertilizers, the press office said.
The new prices will be effective until the end of the third quarter of this year.
Founded in 2005 by Belarus' Belaruskali and Russia's Uralkali, the Belarusian Potash Company is said to control more than 30 percent of the world potash market. A 45-percent stake in the company belongs to Belaruskali and five percent to Belarusian Railroads.
The BPC exports potash to Africa, Europe, India, China, the United States, the Pacific region, and Central and South America. It has offices in Beijing, New Delhi, Singapore, San Paolo and Chicago. //BelaPAN
