First unit of offices, building facilities completed at construction site for nuclear power plant in Hrodna region

The first unit of offices and building facilities has been completed at the construction site for Belarus' first-ever nuclear power plant in the Hrodna region, Anatol Bondar, chief engineer of the nuclear project management directorate, told reporters in Minsk on July 19.

He said that efforts were also underway to build transport facilities and housing for builders in the vicinity of the construction site.

Speaking at the news conference, Vital Kulik, deputy minister of natural resources and environmental protection, said that a week before the energy ministry had approved justification of investments for the project, which includes, among other, a report on the environmental impact of the future plant.

The next stage in preparations for the construction of the plant is the development of its architectural design, the deputy minister said. //BelaPAN
