Public transport fares in Minsk, Minsk region to be raised on November 1
The Minsk region’s urban and suburban transport fares will increase on November 1 in pursuance of two directives of the regional government.
A single ticket for travel by public transport in the cities will be raised by 46.6 percent to 1,100 rubels and for travel by suburban transport by 39 percent to 1,600 rubels.
Fares for travel on conventional-type bus services will rise from 124 to 220 rubels per kilometer and for travel on soft-seated bus services from 128.1 to 228 rubels per kilometer. Journeys on express bus services will increase from 161 to 286 rubels and from 166.5 to 296.4 rubels, respectively, in price depending on the class.
Minsk’s public transport fares will also be raised on November 1.
A one-way trip in the subway and by bus, trackless trolley and streetcar will cost 1,300 rubels instead of 950 rubels at present.
Tickets available from drivers will rise to 1,500 rubels in price.
A journey on bus services operating express routes will go up to 1,800 rubels in price.
The price of a monthly pass will increase to 51,200 rubels for one means of transportation, to 68,400 rubels for two means of transportation, to 81,600 rubels for three means, to 92,300 rubels for four means and to 64,700 rubels for express bus services.
The previous increase in the public transport fares in Minsk occurred on September 10. They were then raised from 900 to 950 rubels for a single ride.
Mikalay Ladutska, chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, said earlier this month that the local authorities wanted to raise the fares to up to 1,850 rubels before the end of the year. //BelaPAN
