Lukashenka slams performance of Presidential Council for Enterprise Development

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has slammed the performance of the Presidential Council for Enterprise Development and warned that changes will be made to its composition.

While meeting with leaders of the pro-government Belarusian Union of Afghan War Veterans on Thursday, Mr. Lukashenka said, "The Council must have a very decent and good businessman, an entrepreneur from among Afghan war veterans on its lineup." "He will not be afraid to speak out and not only over his own matters but will also raise common problems," the presidential press office quoted him as saying.

Mr. Lukashenka accused some of the Council's members of using it to promote their own business interests. "This must not be the case. If you are a member of the Council, you must care about enterprise, from general legal issues to specific projects," he was quoted as saying. //BelaPAN
