Foreign minister meets with heads of CIS, OSCE/ODIHR observation missions
Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makey had meetings in Minsk on Monday with the heads of the missions of parliamentary election observers representing the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
While meeting with Sergei Lebedev, head of the CIS observation mission, Mr. Makey expressed his gratitude the CIS observers for "a balanced approach and impartial assessment" of the parliamentary elections in Belarus, according to the press office of the Belarusian foreign ministry.
Apart from the elections, Messrs. Makey and Lebedev discussed preparations for forthcoming meetings of CIS bodies.
During a meeting with Antonio Milososki, head of the OSCE/ODIHR observation mission, and ODIHR Director Janez Lenarcic, Mr. Makey was informed about the mission's preliminary conclusions about the parliamentary poll, the press office said. // BelaPAN
