Minsk describes firebomb attack on Lithuanian embassy as malicious hooliganism

The Belarusian foreign ministry`s spokesman described Tuesday`s Molotov cocktail attack on the Lithuanian embassy as "malicious hooliganism."

"Our reaction is completely obvious, this is malicious hooliganism," Andrey Savinykh told reporters in Minsk on November 8. "We expect law enforcement agencies to conduct an investigation and the culprits to be punished to the fullest extent of the law."

Two unknown people threw two bottles containing a flammable substance into the compound and fled the scene. No people were hurt in the attack.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Azubalis and Emanuelis Zingeris, head of the foreign affairs committee in the Lithuanian parliament, described the attack as a terrorist act. //BelaPAN
