Representatives of the foreign ministries of Belarus and Russia held consultations in Minsk on October 24 to discuss cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Belarus expects tangible results from participation in SCO activities, including with regard to the development of the region’s transit potential and the expansion of banking, financial and investment cooperation, said the press office of the Belarusian foreign ministry.
Belarus was represented at the consultations by Ihar Lyashchenya, head of the foreign ministry’s Asia and Africa department, and Russia by Kirill Barsky, the president’s special representative and national coordinator for the SCO.
Belarus is ready to share its experience in various spheres, including the ensuring of food security, the prevention of illegal migration and human trafficking, the prevention of emergencies and the management of their aftermath, the press office said.
