Net foreign direct investment reported to have totaled $1.2 billion in first 11 months of 2012
Net foreign direct investment in the first 11 months of 2012 totaled $1.2 billion, or 100 percent of the downward revised target for the year, according to the National Statistical Committee (Belstat).
Net FDI totaled $661.1 million in he first half of the year and $1,184.3 million in the first 10 months, Belstat said.
As much as $742.6 million in foreign direct investment went into the real sector of the economy in the first 11 months of 2012, compared with $1,836.3 million in the same period of the previous year, Belstat said. A total of $1.8 million was paid for the government's shares in companies, up from $10,000.
Net foreign direct investment in the banking sector amounted to $363.8 million against $379.9 million in the same period last year, Belstat said.
Individuals resident in Belarus sold $111.4 million worth of real estate to non-residents, drawing in $40,000 in foreign direct investment, Belstat said. //BelaPAN
