Belarus invites Venezuelan national soccer team to friendly game

Syarhey Safaryan, first deputy chairman of the Belarusian Football Federation (BFF), met with a Venezuelan diplomat in Minsk on Friday to discuss the possibility of a friendly game between the countries' national soccer teams.

"We suggested that they consider the possibility of the Venezuelan national team coming to Belarus in October or November for a friendly game," the BFF press office quoted Mr. Safaryan as saying.

Gerardo Estrada, first secretary at the Venezuelan embassy in Minsk, promised that the diplomatic mission would forward the proposal to the South American country's soccer federation.

Venezuela are 45th in the FIFA world rankings, 20 places above Belarus. //BelaPAN
