Prime Minister Myasnikovich presents government awards to large group of workers
Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich on March 6 presented government awards to a large group of prominent workers in various fields on behalf of the head of state, reported the presidential press office.
According to the press office, the award recipients included a total of 90 people engaged in machine-building, power generation, trade, agriculture, journalism, scientific research, education and culture. The awards were granted for their "fruitful work and exemplary performance of duties," the press office noted.
Mr. Myasnikovich noted that Belarus is part of a common customs area with Russia and Kazakhstan, and that the country's main trading partner, Russia, has joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) and currently abides by its rules. "We can say that we are a de-facto member of the WTO as well because we work with third countries, including Ukraine, Poland, the Baltic and Middle Eastern countries in accordance with the rules that Russia agreed upon with the WTO when it was joining this influential organization," he said.
Mr. Myasnikovich congratulated all the award recipients, saying he was confident that they would be an example for their colleagues to follow.
Those awarded included Inessa Pleskachewskaya, the correspondent of the newspaper Sovetskaya Belorussiya in China, who was granted the Medal for Labor Services. //BelaPAN
