President of Riyada Group of Companies receives Lukashenka in Singapore
Shaikha Dheya bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa, president of the Riyada Group of Companies, received Alyaksandr Lukashenka in Singapore on Wednesday, BelaPAN said.
Mr. Lukashenka expressed confidence that his long journey to Singapore would pay off, according to the Belarusian government's news agency BelTA. "As far as I'm informed about our joint plans, going so far to implement them made sense," he said.
Shaikha Dheya pointed that she had met with Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Uladzimir Syamashka and briefly discussed opportunities for cooperation.
There are a number of specific plans that need to be finalized, she said.
In late 2012, a delegation of the Riyada Group of Companies visited Belarus to hold talks about the export of Belarusian products under international leasing contacts with the Group's financial support.
The delegation offered export support to Minsk Automobile Plant, Belarusian Automobile Plant, AAT Amkador (Minsk-based company that manufactures road construction and other machinery), and AAT Belkamunmash (trackless trolleys and streetcars).
Also under discussion was the possibility of assembling public transport vehicles in Oman and establishing joint food companies. In addition, the delegation invited Belarus' state oil company Belarusnafta to participate in oil and gas projects in the Middle East.
A member of Bahrain's royal family, Shaikha Dheya bint Ebrahim Al Khalifa is involved in the management of more than 30 joint ventures in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. She is a member of the Board of Directors of private investment firm Sun Capital Investment and a partner of the Saudi Investment Bank. In 2012, Forbes Magazine ranked her 77th most influential woman of the Arab world.
