Moscow insists on immediate release of Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner, deputy foreign minister says
Moscow insists on the immediate and unconditional release of Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner and his safe return to the Russian Federation, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said Friday while meeting with Ihar Petryshenka, the Belarusian ambassador to Russia, reported the press office of the Russian foreign ministry.
According to the press office of the Belarusian foreign ministry, Messrs. Petryshenka and Karasin discussed a wide range of issues concerning the development of relations between Belarus and Russia. In particular, they discussed political dialogue at the high and highest levels, the current state and development prospects of cooperation between the two countries' parliaments and provinces and the implementation of agreements on equal rights for the two countries' citizens in the Belarusian-Russian Union State, the press office said.
Particular attention was paid to the expansion of cooperation between the two countries' foreign ministries and preparations for the ministries’ joint board meeting scheduled to take place in Moscow in November, the press office said.
Messrs. Petryshenka and Karasin also exchanged opinions on the situation regarding Belarusian Potash Company and Uralkali, the press office said. // BelaPAN
