Industrial sector's finished product inventories reported at 71.4 percent of average monthly output as of September 1

Industrial companies' finished product inventories totaled 28,435.1 billion rubels (some $3.2 billion) as of September 1, which accounted for 71.4 percent of the average monthly output compared with 74.4 percent a month earlier and 49.8 percent a year earlier, reported the National Statistical Committee (Belstat).

According to Belstat, as of September 1, the largest proportions of unsold products were in the leather and footwear industries, 293.4 percent of the average monthly output; the production of machines and equipment, 180.6 percent; and the textile and garment industry, 180.2 percent.

The proportion of unsold goods was 146.9 percent in the production of transport vehicles and equipment, up from 146.7 percent a year before; 114.3 percent in the production of electric, electronic and optical equipment, down from 120.7 percent; 80.5 percent in the processing industry, down from 84 percent; 76.3 percent in the iron and steel industry, down from 79.7 percent; 75.1 percent in the woodworking industry, down from 83.8 percent; 62.5 percent in the pulp and paper and printing industries, down from 69.3 percent; 46.4 percent in the food industry, down from 50.6 percent; and 13.1 percent in the mining industry, up from 12.6 percent. //BelaPAN
