Naftan reported to be most profitable company in Belarus in first half of 2013
AAT Naftan (refining and petrochemical company) was the most profitable company in Belarus in the first half of 2013, with its net profit in the period amounting to 1.3 trillion rubels ($150 million), reported the Ministry of Finance.
According to the ministry, Naftan was followed by Mazyr Oil Refinery with a net profit of 1.06 trillion rubels, potash giant Belaruskali with 776.4 billion rubels, Belshyna (tire maker) with 647.2 billion rubels, the Development Bank of Belarus with 545.3 billion rubels,
The 10 most profitable companies in Belarus in the first half of the year also included oil pipeline company AAT Homyeltransnafta Druzhba with a net profit of 453.9 billion rubels, chemical company Hrodna Azot with 437.5 billion rubels, Nyoman Tobacco Factory (Hrodna-based cigarette maker) with 302.7 billion rubels, BelAZ (Zhodzina-based haul truck manufacturer) with 278.5 billion rubels, and MAZ (Minsk-based manufacturer of trucks and buses) with 176.3 billion rubels. //BelaPAN
