Lukashenka calls for more joint plants with Russia
Alyaksandr Lukashenka on Friday spoke for the establishment of more joint industrial plants with Russia.
“We will be very happy to start joint companies on the ground, near the consumer together with you in order to process, finish, assemble equipment, and sell these products through these companies,” he told a group of Russian reporters in Minsk.
Mr. Lukashenka told government officials who attended the meeting to look into why Minsk Tractor Works had stopped supplying kits to an assembly plant in Smolensk.
Asked about his regular meetings with Russian provincial governors, Mr. Lukashenka said that it was the governors who asked for such meetings.
“OK, these are officials not of my level, but meeting the head of any state is prestigious for a politician. I understand them and is ready to work for the benefit of their authority as I am grateful to them for saving our relations with Russia,” he said. //BelaPAN
