New Year’s Eve celebrations in Homyel cancelled
New Year’s Eve festivities that were to be held in Homyel on the night between December 31 and January 1 have been cancelled, reportedly because of complaints from residents that loud music disturbed their sleep.
According to the local newspaper Gomelskaya Pravda, complaints came from not only residents of houses near Homyel’s tallest Christmas tree but also from people living in other districts of the city.
According to the Homyel City Executive Committee’s website, the planned festive events will take place on the afternoon of January 1. //BelaPAN
