Belarus, China to establish interstate cooperation commission
Belarus and China will establish a bilateral cooperation commission at the level of deputy prime ministers. An agreement to this effect was reached at a meeting between Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing on January 20.
Mr. Li said that China and Belarus were good friends and partners and needed to "take advantage of their newly upgraded partnership to advance common development and prosperity," reported China's news agency Xinhua.
"The two sides need to enhance political engagement, provide more support for each other, cooperate more effectively and strengthen communication and coordination on international affairs," Mr. Li was quoted as saying.
He noted that a development plan for cooperation between Belarus and China would soon be announced and implemented, and predicted continuous progress in the key fields of bilateral cooperation.
