Young commissioned officer shoots himself dead in military unit in Brest region
A young commissioned officer committed suicide in a military unit near Luninets, Brest region, on Sunday morning by shooting himself in the head with his service pistol, according to reports.
The 25-year-old unmarried officer, a native of Babruysk, was rushed to a hospital where he died.
Uladzimir Makaraw, spokesman for the Belarusian defense ministry, confirmed the suicide to BelaPAN but refused to give the details, citing “ethical reasons”.
