Lukashenka appoints Alyaksandr Radzkow presidential aide, relieving him of position of first deputy head of Presidential Administration
Alyaksandr Lukashenka on December 20 appointed Alyaksandr Radzkow to serve as presidential aide, relieving him of the position of first deputy head of the Presidential Administration.
Born in a village in the Mahilyow region on July 1, 1951, Mr. Radzkow served as education minister between 2003 and 2010.
He was appointed first deputy head of the Presidential Administration on December 28, 2010. The current prime minister of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, was appointed to the post on the same day.
Mr. Radzkow has been chairman of Belaya Rus (White Russia), a pro-presidential nationwide movement, since its founding in November 2007.
Belaya Rus is widely believed to exist for the sole purpose of keeping Mr. Lukashenka in power. The organization claims that it has nearly 140,000 members, who include thousands of government officials and other public servants. // BelaPAN
