Lukashenka orders 25-percent staff cut in his administration

Alyaksandr Lukashenka on June 6 signed an edict ordering a 25-percent reduction in the number of employees in the Presidential Administration.

According to the presidential press office, the order followed Mr. Lukashenka's Edict No. 168 dated April 12, 2013, which required the heads of governmental agencies and government-funded organizations to reduce their staff numbers by 25 percent by July 1.

The new edict also restructured the Presidential Administration in order “to ensure its efficient performance following the reduction of the number of its employees,” the press office said.

The edict also tasked the Presidential Administration with assisting the head of state in his policy aimed at the debureaucratization of the government apparatus. //BelaPAN
