Huge apple pie baked at restaurant in Minsk

Cooks of the Apple restaurant in Minsk have baked an apple pie weighing 60 kilograms within the framework of the Best Product 2010 contest instituted in 1998 to study consumers’ preferences and promote food products.

The pie, made at an apple festival that was held at the restaurant earlier this week, was 220 centimeters long, 141 centimeters wide and three centimeters tall. It is expected to make its way into this year’s records book of Russia, other CIS countries and the Baltic states named Divo (Miracle).

Eighty kilograms of flour and 25 kilograms of sugar were used to cook the pie. An official representative of Divo was present to measure the dish.

Several large pieces made up the pie, but its total size is to be taken into account by the book’s authors, Anastasiya Hlazko, coordinator of the Best Product 2010 contest, told BelaPAN.

Even record-breaking hotdogs usually consist of several parts cooked separately, she noted.
