Belarusian jazz festival held in Minsk

A large-scale Belarusian jazz festival took place at the Moulin Rouge club in Minsk this past weekend, bringing together Alyaksandr Lipnitski`s Symphonic Drive Orchestra, Apple Tea, Chiefs Band, Real Jazz Band and other groups.

The Jazz Wednesday festival ran six hours.

An organizer, Mikalay Matoryn, said that jazz gigs had been regularly held at the Graffiti club in Minsk on Wednesdays for the last eight years. This past weekend the festival moved to the bigger venue, he noted.

Another organizer, Andrey Kalitsin, said that this was the first festival of such a scale ever held in Belarus.

Organizer Yan Busel added that the festival featured the most prominent Belarusian jazz bands. //BelaPAN
