Cigarettes rise in price by up to 40 percent

 

Belarus’ retail prices of cigarettes rose by between 10 and 40 percent on September 20 in pursuance of a directive issued by the Ministry of Economy the previous day.

Among brands made by AAT Nyoman in Hrodna, Korona increased in price by 23 percent to 2,950 rubels per pack, Minsk and Premyer by 29 percent to 2,650 rubels, Gamour by 42 percent to 5,400 rubels, Kent by 40 percent to 7,000 rubels, Lucky Strike by 41 percent to 5,500 rubels and Monte Carlo Super Slims by 28.5 percent to 4,500 rubels.

As for cigarettes made by TAA Tabak-Invest based in Minsk, Camel rose in price by 36 percent to 6,800 rubels per pack, Monte Carlo by 28 percent to 4,500 rubels and Winston by 41 percent to 5,500 rubels.

The prices of imported cigarettes were also raised. They went up by 12 percent to 10,700 rubels for Davidoff, by 20 percent to 12,000 rubels for Dunhill, by eight percent to 18,500 rubels for Sobranie and by 10 percent to 11,000 rubels for Vogue.

The previous increase in the prices of cigarettes occurred on June 26. They were then raised by between 0.7 and 90 percent. //BelaPAN
