Interior Troops servicemen undergo tests for right to wear purple beret

The final stage of tough qualifying tests for Interior Troops servicemen for the right to wear the purple beret ("krapovy beret") was held at the Valowshchyna training center near Minsk on October 19.

More than 50 Interior Troops servicemen undergo such tests every fall, but no more than one-fourth of them are usually awarded the purple beret, which is viewed as a symbol of valor in the Troops.

There are about 650 purple beret holders in Belarus at present. //BelaPAN
