Beauty queen congratulated by family, boyfriend after Miss Belarus triumph

Yuliya Skalkovich was congratulated by her parents, grandparents and boyfriend moments after winning the Miss Belarus 2012 beauty pageant in Minsk on May 4.

The 20-year-old beauty queen, who lives in a village near Brest and attends a university in the city in southwestern Belarus, had an emotional meeting with her thrilled loved ones off the stage of the Palace of Sport that hosted the spectacular show.

In a touching display of affection, the beauty was tenderly hugged by her boyfriend whom she had missed dearly during the grueling preparations for the pageant final away from home.

Ms. Skalkovich later revealed that she had even contemplated pulling out midway through the weeks-long preparations because she had missed her loved ones so much.
