Music concert to be played in Vilnius in solidarity with advocates of democratic change in Belarus
A music concert will be played in Vilnius on May 19 as part of StudAlliance’s campaign for bringing a democratic change in Belarus.
The bill features Belarusian rapper Vinsent and Belarusian rock band Stsyana, according to the press office of StudAlliance, a youth organization.
“Art and artists have always been in the forefront of changes," StudAlliance President, Kiryl Atamanchyk told BelaPAN. “These are people who drive society forward and arouse it. Music is one of the best tools of expressing your stance as a citizen and your thoughts about various events. We hope that people who will be attending the concert will feel that they are together, and that they have a common goal – a free and democratic Belarus.”
The objective of StudAlliance’s campaign called “The Belarusian spring in Vilnius” is to inform residents of the Lithuanian capital city about the political situation in neighboring Belarus through music and other art events.
The concert is being organized with the assistance of European Humanities University, a private Belarusian school that moved to Vilnius after being closed by the Belarusian authorities in 2004.
