Villages, dacha colonies may soon be demolished to make way for Chinese factories
Residents of dozens of villages and summer cottage owners fear that they may lose their houses and beautiful gardens and orchards around them as a result of the construction of a Belarusian-Chinese industrial park in a scenic area some 20 miles east of Minsk.
A BelaPAN reporter climbed a water tower in a dacha colony in the Smalyavichy district to take a look at the area that may soon be occupied by Chinese-built factories and offices.
Local village residents and dacha owners are up in arms against the project. //BelaPAN
