Opposition activists call on passers-by to be actively involved in political life
Members of Zmena, the youth wing of the “Tell the Truth!” movement, staged a brief demonstration in Minsk’s downtown Yakub Kolas Square on August 20 to call on passers-by to be actively involved in political life.
They placed cabbages, carrots and potatoes on a sidewalk and set up signs on a nearby bench that said, “Don’t be a vegetable!” “Freedom can’t be grown in a kitchen garden” and “Fight for your rights!”
Participants quickly left the scene to avoid arrest. //BelaPAN
