Days of Lithuanian Culture in Belarus opens in Minsk

A ceremony marking the start of Days of Lithuanian Culture in Belarus was held at the Baltic country's embassy in Minsk on May 3.

The two-month event is held on the occasion of the start of the Lithuanian presidency of the European Union.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lithuanian Ambassador Evaldas Ignatavicius said that the two countries were close "historically and geographically" but lacked knowledge about each other.

He stressed that the number of Belarusians traveling to Lithuania was rising and so was the number of joint projects in various spheres.

An exhibition of photographs of 20 mansions of noble families in Lithuania opened at the embassy in the framework of the event. //BelaPAN
