Government to raise electricity rates for households on September 1
The Council of Ministers has issued a directive providing for raising the electricity rates for households on September 1.
In particular, the rates applying to the electricity consumed within the established quota will increase from 428.5 to 479.1 rubels per kWh for households using electric cookers and from 504.3 to 563.8 rubels for other households.
The electricity rates differentiated by time of day will be raised from 353 to 394.7 rubels for the period between 10 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 1,008.6 to 1,127.6 rubels for the period between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. For households using electric cookers, the rates will increase from 300 to 335.4 rubels and from 857 to 958.2 rubels, respectively.
The price of electricity used for heating purposes will be raised from 504.3 to 563.8 rubels per kWh for the period between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. and from 1,512.9 to 1,691.4 rubels for any other time of the day.
The most recent increase in the electricity rates for households occurred on August 1, when they rose by 14 percent. //BelaPAN
