Finance ministry reports national budget surplus of 1.2 trillion rubels in first 10 months of 2013

 

Belarus had a national budget surplus of 1.2 trillion rubels (some $140 million), or 0.2 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in the first 10 months of 2013, reported the finance ministry.

The revenues of the consolidated budget (the national budget, local budgets and the Social Security Fund) totaled 220.6 trillion rubels, or 77.4 percent of the target for the year.

The national budget's revenues totaled 88.3 trillion rubels, 72.4 percent of the target for the year.

In particular, 48.6 trillion rubels came from value-added tax, or 82.4 percent of the target for the year; 18.0 trillion rubels from profit tax, or 64.4 percent of the target; 14.0 trillion rubels from excise taxes, or 85.2 percent of the target; and 19.6 trillion rubels from "external economic activities," or 65.9 percent of the target.

Contributions to the Social Security Fund totaled 63.6 trillion rubels, or 78.7 percent of the target for the year.
As of November 1, tax arrears stood at 192.6 billion rubels, 44 billion more than a month before.

The consolidated budget's expenditures totaled 213.8 trillion rubels, or 75 percent of the amount projected for the entire year.

The national budget's expenditures totaled 87.1 trillion rubels, or 71.1 percent of the amount projected for the year.

Public funds spent for financing the national economy amounted to 26.1 trillion rubels and funds spent for financing the “social sphere” (social welfare, education, public health, culture, sports and the media) to 125.7 trillion rubels.

As much as 35.2 trillion rubels, or 66.2 percent of the amount projected for the year, went toward "general state activities." //BelaPAN
