Official plays up conditions created by government for athletes ahead of Sochi Olympics
The Belarusian government has created the most favorable conditions for the country's athletes ahead of the Sochi Olympics, Ihar Rachkowski, first vice president of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), told reporters in Minsk on January 22.
"Not a single coach, not a single athlete has had any complaint," he said.
"All leading athletes have taken treatment abroad, in Israel, Germany or Austria at the NOC's expense," he said. "We have fully prepared everyone physically. Now the question is about their moral attitude, something that they lack sometimes for fighting until the end."
"We are pinning our biggest medal hopes on biathletes," said Mr. Rachkowski.
