Belarusian Christian Democracy members clean up Stalin-era massacre site

Members of Belarusian Christian Democracy (BCD) gathered in Kurapaty on May 9 to clean up the woody place just outside the Minsk Beltway where thousands of people are believed to have been executed by Stalin's NKVD secret police in the 1930s and 1940s.

"We decided that on this symbolic day we would go to the place where the Soviet regime massacred thousands of people," said BCD Secretary Dzyanis Sadowski.
