Exhibition of Belarusian equipment expected to be held in Congo's Kinshasa
The Congolese government plans to organize an exhibition of Belarusian-made equipment in Kinshasa, Lambert Mende Omalanga, Congo's visiting minister of communication and media, told BelaPAN.
Mr. Omalanga is a member of a delegation that arrived in Belarus last week and includes Congo's industry minister, a number of government officials and also a representative of Africa Union Holdings, a South African investment company that cooperates with the Congolese government.
The delegation's goal is to establish the first contacts with Belarus, which is known little in Congo, Mr. Omalanga said, adding that his country needed support in the scientific technical sphere.
The delegation has had meetings with Belarus' industry and information ministers and businesspeople, held talks at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and
Industry and visited the Minsk Tractor Works and the Minsk Automobile Factory (MAZ).
"We are interested in cooperating with Belarus in developing new technologies, carrying out joint information and media projects and especially in mechanizing agriculture," Mr. Omalanga said. "We hope that all companies whose representatives have met with us will participate in the exhibition in Kinshasa, which will be organized in cooperation with Africa Union Holdings. We believe that people in our country should learn about Belarusian technologies."
The delegation invited the Belarusian industry and information ministers and also representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to visit Congo. During the visit, the industry ministries of Belarus and Congo would sign a declaration of intention to cooperate. The visit would also yield a cooperation agreement between the two countries' commerce chambers.
Mr. Omalanga expressed hope that a Belarusian delegation would visit Kinshasa before the end of the year.
