Defense ministries of Belarus, Russia to hold joint board meeting on April 20
The Belarusian and Russian defense ministries will hold a joint board meeting in Minsk on April 20, a spokesman for the Belarusian ministry told BelaPAN. He declined to speak about the agenda of the coming meeting.
The Russian ministry`s delegation to the event will be led by Minister Anatoly Serdyukov.
The previous joint board meeting was held by the two countries` defense ministries in October 2009. Joint board meetings scheduled to be held in Minsk last April and in Moscow last October never took place for unknown reasons.
The Belarusian and Russian defense ministries agreed to hold regular joint board meetings in December 1997.
Such meetings, which are chaired by the defense ministers, are used for discussing, among other matters, military cooperation between Belarus and Russia and the ministries` foreign-policy activity and contacts with other countries.
