Belarusian man among suspected militants arrested in eastern Ukraine
A Belarusian man was among three suspected militants caught by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine at the Russian border on April 30, said the agency’s press office.
The other two suspects are Russian citizens, said the press office.
The three men were seized at the border crossing on their way to Donetsk, a city in eastern Ukraine where pro-Russian militants have occupied a number of government buildings. They had reportedly planned to travel to Donetsk through Luhansk, another major city where some buildings have been seized by armed men who describe themselves as supporters of Ukraine’s federalization and display Russian flags.
Military uniforms, knives and other equipment were found on the suspects, said the press office. //BelaPAN
