Belarusian National Youth Union holds festival to help young people “make right choice” in presidential election

The Belarusian National Youth Union (BNYU) held a festival at the Soccer Arena in Minsk on Saturday to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of Belarus’ Communist Youth League known as Komsomol, BelaPAN reports.

Titled, “Make Your Choice,” the festival is aimed at helping young people “make the right choice” in the forthcoming presidential election, Ihar Buzowski, first secretary of the BNYU Central Committee, told reporters.
During his opening address, Mr. Buzowski (Photo 5) read out a message of greetings from Alyaksandr Lukashenka. “The Belarusian National Youth Union confidently carried on the cause of its predecessor and continues the glorious chronicle of the youth movement,” the Belarusian leader said in his message. “It is gratifying that its new pages are filled with specific deeds.”

The festival featured a break-dancing tournament, a jigsaw puzzle contest, in which participants assembled pictures on Belarusian topics, demos of skateboarding and freestyle BMX, a medieval jousting show and a kettlebell juggling show.

The festival culminated in a “DJ battle.”
