Number of households on housing waiting lists increased by 92,100 last year, statisticians say
The number of households on waiting lists for better housing conditions increased by 92,100 to 739,100 people last year, said the National Statistics Committee last week.
Of them, 370,100 households were new couples and 17,500 accounted for members of large families. A total of 17.3 percent lived in dormitories, 2.1 percent in apartments shared with other households and 0.2 percent in houses declared unfit for living, the Committee said, BelaPAN reports.
