Belarusian Foreign Minister Syarhey Martynaw on June 8 wrapped up his two-day visit to Syria where he met with President Bashar al-Assad, BelaPAN reports.
“The sides noted a mutual interest in the further development of a high-level dialogue and identified major cooperation areas,” said the press office of the Belarusian ministry.
The Syrian president confirmed his readiness to visit Belarus, the press office said, noting that the visit’s date would be set later.
On June 9 and 10, the Belarusian minister will visit Lebanon to meet with President Michel Suleiman, the prime minister, foreign minister and parliamentary speaker.
