Soft toys "demonstrate" in downtown Minsk

Young activists of the “Tell the Truth!” movement on Friday staged a protest that saw toys playing the role of demonstrators in front of the Minsk City Executive Committee’s building at the city center.

Nine soft toys were displayed, with almost all of them holding miniature signs calling for freedoms and the release of political prisoners.

“Our activists did not remain there: they arranged the toys and left,” Pavel Vinahradaw told BelaPAN . “Later, the toys with the signs were ‘arrested’ by police.”

The doll protest was designed to mark the beginning of a new campaign called “Enough Moaning,” he said.
“The purpose of our campaign is to add some light to the gloom among the present-day opposition, which is moaning and crying about the fate of Belarus, not stopping looking for external and internal enemies and is doing other things which we are fed up with. We plan to stage cheerful and creative events on a regular basis.”
